Review for Blinds.com

Let me start by saying I’m in no way sponsored by this company, and this review is strictly on their merit with no benefit to me.

I am the president of procrastination when it comes to home updates. I research for a while, and when I say a while, I mean years. It drives my kids nuts. I may have heard “just make a decision already” a few times.

So, it was time to replace our old Venetian blinds in the bedrooms. Just the thought exhausted me. Where do I buy them? What kind of shades? I could feel the angst climbing up my throat. Turning to the internet could be just as overwhelming for me, but it was quicker than driving to multiple stores with all the information whirling around my brain.

I checked out a few stores claiming to offer the best prices, which all seemed comparable. Suddenly it felt as though a light shined down from above. Blinds.com appeared before me with their easy to maneuver website and the best prices I’ve seen. Thinking like a pessimist, I decided to scope around waiting for that hidden fee to attack me from a dark corner. It never did. Blinds.com has the most straightforward website and a wide variety of choices. They even have a service person online and over the phone, which I utilized by the way.

Being the indecisive person I am, I relied on their customer service a lot. They were honest, helpful, and fun to talk too. I was on the fence picking out a color; I know hard to believe. Not only do they offer free samples, but they helped me decipher between hints of colors and panels. It truly helped me feel confident with what I chose.

I can’t say the order was without bumps. We ended up unhappy with the product we received. It wasn’t what we thought it would be. So, I grabbed the phone to once again talk to the customer service department. This time I did not feel as excited and truthfully a little frustrated with the situation at hand. Their sales associates were a professional, calm, and kind person on the other end, willing to work with me to correct my annoyance. It took me a total of 10 minutes to have another order completed and shipped to me. I had to pay a little extra because it was a different brand, but they allowed me to use the credit from the first set of blinds, which was a great deal. Also, they recommended I donate the first set of screens to a local charity.

I was back on top. We got the order quickly and put the blinds up swiftly. I wish I could say this is the end of my story, but it wasn’t. Over time, my daughter’s curtains wouldn’t stay up. Every time we pushed them up, they would fall halfway down her window. None of the other ones did this, and they were the same brand. Again, the cynic in me put off calling the company because somehow, in my head, I believed I used up my quota. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Blinds.com stands behind every single item they sell. Talking myself into calling was the hardest part of the transaction. I was on the phone for a total of five minutes. The professional, on the other end, verified my problem and had new blinds shipped out quicker than I could heat my coffee in the microwave. There was no additional fee and no need to ship the defective ones back.

What makes a company an ethical company? The definition of a great company isn’t how they handle perfect transactions. It’s how they resolve sticky ones. I can honestly say the blunders I ran into with this expenditure were not what I had hoped for, but I was met with a confident, kind, helpful salespeople every time. Suck it up and deal with your losses was never slung at me.   I will buy from blinds.com again, and I hope you do too. They are a reliable company, so no need to put off redecorating any longer. It truly is as easy as a click of a mouse.
